Stop Dust
Trying to stop dust from causing you to sneeze in your home may seem like
an impossible task, but there are some simple techniques you can employ.
The key to less indoor pollution is to stop dust from coming into your home in the
first place. You can help this situation by putting quality mats at every
entrance to your home. Put a mat outside and inside each door. Do not use
cute mats that have little real value; instead, look for the grassy green
mats or mats with other textures that will pull dust from your shoes.
You also should not wear shoes in your home if you are hoping to stop
dust. Even when people wipe their feet, shoes may have dust that will track
into your home. While your guests, and even your family, may think that
it is a bit off, shoes track in a lot of dust. Keeping shoes right inside
the door, or even outside, will help if you have allergies. You can purchase
a shoe rack to keep everything tidy. There are other benefits to taking
off your shoes, such as the decreased wear on your carpet.
Finally, work to stop dust from staying in the air once it is inside your
home. Instead of using just any old cloth, pick up micro-fiber cloths when
you are out. While they may cost a little more, they work better. These
cloths will pick up dust easily and without spreading it further. Be sure
that you replace the air filters in your air conditioner and any air purifiers
you may have often. These filters work well at trapping dust but will push
it back into the air, in motion, if you do not change the filters. Also
clean all fans every week by wiping down the blades. These simple techniques
will help you stop dust from taking over your home.
